Do you often find yourself reluctantly cycling on busy 8th Ave NW and its incomplete and narrow bike lanes in the gate area? Well, you have something to celebrate on Saturday.

Meet at 10 a.m. at the intersection of NW 58th Street and 6th Avenue NW, near West Woodland Elementary, to join a celebratory family bike ride to the ribbon-cutting ceremony about 10 blocks away. houses on NW 48th Street.
The route is more winding than 8th Avenue, but it includes new and improved crossings on both Leary Way and Market Street, providing what will hopefully be a connection for all ages and abilities since West Woodland Elementary School and the NW 58th Avenue Neighborhood Greenway to Burke-Gilman. track. I’m particularly interested in seeing how the Market Street crossing works, as it has a unique design due to the awkward offset of the intersection.
