This season, Giro d’Italia winner Danilo Di Luca, aka “The Killer”, has teamed up with British cycling brand Vélobici for an exclusive collection of cycling clothing and shoes, available worldwide and launched at of an exclusive UK event on April 14. at Café Ventoux in Tugby, Leicestershire. The event will also showcase the latest creations from Di Luca Bikes.
A few seasons ago, Leicestershire-based cycling company Vélobici teamed up with Italian professional cyclist Di Luca to manufacture the Vélobici Continental bike and this season they are together again to collaborate and launch the new collection “Killer”, consisting of a jersey, a speed suit, bib shorts, base layers and Premgripp® socks exclusive to the brand.
They certainly made a splash with the Continental, combining the lightest carbon available on the market, unidirectional Toray T800, using monocoque technique, resulting in a beautifully designed frame that exceeds expectations. By redefining shapes and structures, Di Luca and Vélobici were able to develop an exceptional frame weighing only 800g. They have once again gone all out on the fabrics and innovative technology used for the new “Killer Collection” available on the Vélobici site.
The jersey is made from a VB/Pro-VR2, a proprietary high-performance nylon, developed with a honeycomb fabric construction that provides a lightweight 150g fabric that excels on the road.
The new three-season jersey promises exceptional performance in warm conditions, thanks to the fabric’s ease of movement and impressive moisture-wicking capabilities.
The “Killer” bib shorts are made from 280g VB/Pro-VR1 performance fiber. They feature the new cutting-edge 7-hour bioceramic VB Pad, just like the “Killer Collection” suits, constructed using Foam Carving technology which eliminates any unnecessary foam on the sides and avoids any aggressive steps between different densities of foam.
Both in the shorts and in the suit, special attention is paid to the crotch area, the latest technology allowing an increase in blood flow around the male anatomy, which can reduce the feeling of fatigue. Wave Body Contour technology keeps you comfortable no matter how long you’re in the saddle.
The pads are then covered with the latest bioceramic antibacterial fabric made from clay minerals. Minerals help to reflect the infrared FIR rays emitted by the human body, providing the cyclist with better oxygenation, freshness and thermoregulation, they increase blood flow and reduce the negative effects caused by intense effort.
