Only available in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains, the Via Ferrata Triple Crown is a completely unique adventure integrating all three local via ferrata routes: Telluride, Ouray and Gold Mountain – into one package! We are thrilled to partner with Basecamp Ouray to offer this extraordinary new trip. Nowhere else in the United States will you find a via ferrata combination like this, with breathtaking alpine views, thrilling heights, and a distinctive physical and mental challenge.
Over the course of three consecutive days, you will traverse over six kilometers of terrain with trained or certified Mountain Trip or Basecamp Ouray AMGA guides. Each route offers its own unique experience and set of challenges. The journey begins with the Telluride Via Ferrata, San Juan’s original via ferrata, started in 2006 by visionary local climber Chuck Kroeger and completed years later. The next day, you will set off in search of the Ouray via ferrata, which crosses the Uncompahgre gorges in front of the famous Ouray ice park. And on the final day, you’ll climb an incredible 1,200 feet of elevation gain on Gold Mountain’s new via ferrata.
