Are you intimidated by the idea of starting a fitness program? Do you feel like you have such a long journey ahead of you because of where you started and do you sometimes doubt your abilities to complete it successfully? Well, this article is for you then.
I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I can tell you that I’ve seen so many warriors join this community who started as ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS! There are too many success stories for me to believe anyone is disqualified. There are, however, a few key aspects to succeeding as a beginner.
- Be prepared to create new habits.
- Stay humble, be patient and embrace the process.
- Surround yourself with a like-minded community.
Be ready to create new habits
Your brain is wired for habits. If you’ve been reinforcing unhealthy habits for years, it can seem very intimidating to even try to undo them, right? The beauty of the brain, however, is that what can be connected can also be connected. It takes 60 days to develop a new habit, which is why many of my programs are 60 days long. If you decide to make the important habit of cutting out all processed foods and sodas, replacing them with whole foods, and moving every day – for 60 days – you will find that it will become a lifestyle for you that will become easier and easier. easier to integrate because you are more used to it. Don’t be intimidated by the idea of starting something new. You CAN do this!
Stay humble, be patient and embrace the process
Recognize from the start that you are signing up for a TRIP. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. It takes humility to start something that feels pretty bad at first, but know that showing up every day and making the right decisions is a success for you. You will get better with practice, both in terms of eating well and exercising. Time and time again, I’ve seen warriors who couldn’t even do a single push-up over time, able to do several – and with great form too!
Be patient with yourself, especially when it comes to seeing physical results. I always encourage progress photos instead of scale, because scale doesn’t really tell the whole story. If you expect to see results overnight, you will be disappointed, but if you consistently make the right choices, you will see changes over time. With my programs, some start to see changes as early as a week, while others may take 3-4 weeks. Every person’s body reacts differently, so it’s important not to compare yourself to others. Celebrate the progress of others and keep working.
Surround yourself with a like-minded communityYes
You may not have the support you would like at home or in those around you. Unfortunately, this is quite common. If you do, it’s amazing! As a society, we’re pretty unhealthy (even though we’ve come a long way in recent years!), so when you decide to think outside the box and switch to a healthy lifestyle, others may not. understand your decision. Sarcastic remarks and disinterest from those you love may threaten to demotivate you, but remember this: Sometimes you have to be the trailblazer – the trailblazer – for your family and your community. Even if you feel alone for a while, you will influence those around you, even if they don’t show it. Just the fact that you are doing something different makes them think and evaluate their choices. Overall, don’t let their lack of support stop you. How sad would it be to not reach your potential and improve your life and health because someone else wasn’t on board?
It’s important to have a community, though, so if you can’t find it locally, my MA Warrior community is made up of women and men from all over the world who will support you, encourage you, and help you achieve your goals . This community has spawned many friendships and the camaraderie is like family. You have a great resource to answer your questions, and you learn so much from each other along the way!
So if you are a beginner, know that you can do it. Be patient with yourself and your process. You’ll look back and be amazed at how far you’ve come if you don’t give up every day, and over time all that progress will add up, but. you need to start with step one. Let’s go.
