Athletes to watch
There won’t be many announcements for this competition, but these three contenders are among the early favorites.
Young Sagabain
The 2023 champion of this competition is back to defend his title. Joven Sagabain is the only representative of the host country in the composition. He has competed at the Olympia three times, with his last appearance coming in 2024, when he placed 16th. He won the Tokyo Pro 2023.
Ash Abdallahi
Ash Abdollahi, representing Australia, is expected to make his professional debut at this competition. He achieved his professional status at the 2023 NPC World Australian National Championships, where he won the overall national championship in his division.
A small show like this could be an easy way to adjust to the professional level and get noticed by the judges. Fans in his home country see him as a future star in the division.
Marquis Young
Marquis Young is the only representative from the United States. On September 28, 2024, he finished eighth at the Legion Sports Fest Pro 2024 in Reno, Nevada. Before that, he placed ninth at the 2024 Los Angeles Pro Grand Prix.
This is Young’s third qualifying season in the professional ranks. He is aiming for his first professional victory and Olympic qualification.
