Presentation of Pedro, the Happy Poo
Meet my team member, Pedro The Poo. It’s a happy poop. It helps me help my clients poop happier. And more joyful atmospheres!
Do you know if you have happy poops? If you think your gut issues are affecting your mood, creating anxiety or stress, then your poopers aren’t happy. Unhappy poops can also be linked to other chronic systemic conditions and symptoms.
Bristol saddle chart
Have you ever come across the Bristol Stool Chart? It is a practical tool that I use in the clinic with my clients.
Types 1-2 indicate constipation
Types 3-4 are considered normal
Type 4 is ideal, a happy pooper
Types 5 to 7 indicate loose stools/diarrhea
Ideally, we want to eliminate daily type 4 poops.
- They look like sausages.
- There are some soft ones but some strong ones.
- They go on easily and comfortably.
- They leave no or very little wiping.
- They are not urgent. (But never intentionally delay a bathroom visit if you have a toilet nearby, when the call comes.)
- They give you that delicious feeling of complete evacuation.
- They leave you feeling lighter and happier.
Ask yourself these questions
Does the above description of Happy Poo apply to you? Otherwise, here are some things to consider (check out the linked blogs for tips and advice):
If you are struggling with any of these issues, why not book a call with me and we can discuss how simple diet and lifestyle changes can help you?
Customer cases
I have worked with many clients with intestinal issues, some in quite severe conditions. Here are some examples from my clients:
1. Ulcerative colitis
A client with ulcerative colitis (an inflammatory bowel disease, IBD) had bleeding up to 10 times a day, felt anxious about socializing, and had to inject immunosuppressants to calm the inflammation of the intestine. Their symptoms completely disappeared within a few weeks thanks to the overhaul of their rather processed diet. Along with dietary changes, we optimized their vitamin D levels and used other anti-inflammatory supplements. Eventually, they may also stop taking their medication (please never stop taking your medication before discussing this with your doctor!). In this lovely testimony, they wrote:
“I was in and out of the hospital, dealing with a gut health issue and medication side effects. I now have no symptoms, it’s as simple as that! »
Of course, it’s not always that simple, but sometimes it could be!
2. No gallbladder
Another client without a gallbladder suffered from urgent diarrhea every morning and feared leaving the house without knowing where the next toilet was. They saw their stools normalize within a few weeks after making small changes to their meals and using gut-specific supplements.
3. I have never had daily bowel movements
Another client told me he never had a daily bowel movement, “it’s just the way I am.” They also suffered from anxiety and depression, bloating and weight gain. Shortly after we worked together, they started pooping daily.
4. IBS-D
This client suffered from IBS which caused her diarrhea and irregular bowel movements for over 5 years. It didn’t take long for them to start enjoying consistent, regular daily bowel movements after a few small changes. And now they’re a little obsessed with their daily poop!
I would like you to know that there is no need to suffer. It doesn’t have to be a life sentence. Small changes to your diet and lifestyle, along with some targeted supplements, can make a big difference!
