Skincare is going wild. There are so many treatments available that didn’t exist ten or even five years ago. From vampire facials (now a new HIV risk) to Korean botox and the whole Korean skincare trend, gone are the days when a simple moisturizer was enough. And God forbid you don’t use a moisturizer with an SPF 50 factor!
But among all these weird and wonderful trends, what is the most popular skincare in 2024? Read on to find out.
Facial frenzy
We have to start with the facial, because that’s what everyone is talking about – and if you Google it, anything facial is the most popular treatment.
The one we need to talk about first is the Korean skincare frenzy. Let’s bust a myth: You won’t get Korean skin unless you’re Korean. Sorry girls (or anyone), unless you’re Korean with the blessed genetics they possess, you don’t have the bouncy, glassy skin you see in videos. And the funny thing is that most of the videos are created by Korean girls, making everyone believe that rubbing a natural rice mixture on the skin will create plump, wrinkle-free skin. However, there is no harm in doing so.
Don’t get us started on vampire facials – ITV News has released a report stating that three people contracted HIV from vampire facials. Thank you, Kim Kardashian, for making us think they’re the best.
Non-surgical treatments
Non-surgical treatments are 100% among the treatments that interest everyone. From composite veneers to anti-wrinkle injectionsthere are all the non-surgical treatments you can dream of. Are they all bad? No. The problem is that some girls opt for fillers and reshape their faces – Molly Mae and her Xbox jawline are one example.
When performed by a professional with years of experience, non-surgical treatment can be effective in improving personal image. Sometimes it pays to pay more, and this certainly applies to cosmetic and non-surgical treatments.
Some facials are great, like dermaplaning, microneedling, etc.
Lotions and potions
Lotions and potions are definitely becoming the most popular. As we said, you can’t have just one facial anymore – you need to have a long list of products, including:
- Cleaner
- tonic
- serum
- Face oil
- CC/BB creams
- Moisturizers (WITH SPF!)
- Night creams
- Eye creams
There are probably others we’ve forgotten, but if you don’t have them all, social media has us believing that we’ll look like we’re 50 by the time we hit our 30s. Some of them are good; we cannot deny it. The only consideration is to choose products suitable for your skin type and not overload your skin with too many products.
So what do you think is best? skincare trend? The world is definitely going crazy for it, and people are paying thousands of dollars for it. Whatever treatment you choose, make sure it is well researched and right for you. You don’t always have to follow trends because you think they look good.
