I find stories of people overcoming the challenges life throws at you inspiring. A few years ago, while hiking Mount Woodson in San Diego, I met a veteran who had lost both legs to an explosive device while serving in Afghanistan. He was training to prepare to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, when I heard it blew my mind. I always wondered if I had experienced something similar and if I would have the mental and physical courage to overcome the obstacles that life throws at us. your way and excel. Meeting this veteran led me to found the Heroes Project, an organization that hosts events and raises funds to send injured veterans on adventures that help rebuild minds and bodies. They hold an event called Climb for Heroes every year along with several others. events to help raise money for this cause, something I can totally support.
Recently Rangel from a company called Lyfx (a company that connects “local experts” with people looking for adventure) *I haven’t used the service yet, so I’m not promoting the company, it’s just an interesting story that I thought my readers might enjoy. *, sent me the story of a young man born with cerebral palsy who overcame so much in his life to excel at it, including the recent ascent of Punta Penia on the Marmolada, the highest point in the Dolomites. I always find these stories inspiring, so I thought I would pass them on to you, reader, enjoy reading.
