“Life is like a waterfall. It’s still flowing and there’s still an uneven flow.

I was surprised that this trail didn’t have more people; but I suppose it was still May after all; and a day of school.

Small talk
It wasn’t easy getting to the trailhead as my Google directions took me down roads that had been closed, I assume because of the fire and all the downed trees. We both packed a few items and snacks for the day. The best part was when we took a break at the first waterfall, I packed the empty Haribo Gummi Bears ziplock. I usually buy them in bulk from Amazon since we take them on all our hiking and camping trips.
not much uphill, but lots of downhill
The trailhead is wide open, sparsely covered with trees. I would recommend going earlier when it’s cooler.
When you get to the first waterfall, about 2.3 miles in, to get the best view you have to go all the way down. See photo with our doggies. We only saw two small groups, a handful of people out during our hike. Designed for a nice quiet afternoon.
There was some windfall along the trail, but nothing the pups couldn’t handle; it’s easier for them because they report to most of them. Although usually one of them jumps over and the other sinks; they are so opposite.
waterfalls, more than 1
The second waterfall isn’t too long, plenty more tree falls during this short section. This waterfall is called the Cascade des Cascades. I wish I had known there was at least one more fall after we turned around. I guess I’ll just have to return to this trail to see the third which doesn’t seem much further either – Kaluwas Falls.
On the way out we only saw one other couple. On the way back to Sisters, there are great views of Sisters from the dirt road to the trailhead. If you go to Sisters, there’s a place I’ve had a few meals at that has good food and a good environment. The Ski Inn Taphouse – https://www.sisterstaphousehotel.com/. Check it out!
