Great Smoky Mountains National Park officials introduced that the Greenbrier place will be temporarily closed at the Greenbrier Ranger Station to all motorists and pedestrians by means of April 23, 2021. Previously the closure was in spot at the picnic location. The closure place has been expanded owing to pedestrian use over and above the picnic place into the construction zone which poses an unacceptable basic safety hazard to visitors and employees.
Ramsey Cascades Trail, Porters Creek Trail, Grapeyard Ridge Path, Backcountry Campsite 31, Backcountry Campsite 32, and all manways alongside the Greenbrier Highway will also be shut to visitor use for the period of the construction closure. Old Settlers and Brushy Mountain Trails will keep on to be open, but hikers can’t accessibility these trails from the Greenbrier place all through the closure and need to program their routes cautiously.
