April 18 Spring in life………
in well-being
Leap is a period of transition, renewal, expansion and emergence. Perhaps you can feel new energy as it is released in trees, plants and flowers. After the dormant energy of winter, we are often drawn to foods that are fatty, higher in protein, caffeine and sugar, which in turn creates congestion and stagnation in our bodies and minds. We can literally come out of winter with a serious case of “brain.” fog” creating a mental clutter that usually includes a whole series of conversations we should have, could have and could have had with ourselves. This type of negative self-talk can often lead to limited self-confidence, overthinking, and a victimizing style that we need to let go of.
Spring naturally makes us feel more alive and it’s the perfect time to clear clutter from your mind, body and external environment. This spring, invite cleansing and detox into your life by turning off the heat and opening the windows to let in some fresh air. So what could you do to extend some of these positive feelings to your body and mind… I have a few suggestions to share with you.
First, let’s start with how to promote healthy intestinal cleansing. My dear friend and very knowledgeable nutrition guru shares some amazing tips on her website and I especially love this blog about making smoothies:

Some of you may know that I committed to a 21-day green smoothie challenge for breakfast and I have to admit that the idea of just eating liquid for breakfast seemed atypical to me. However, I took on the challenge and was surprised at how easily I adapted and how filling the smoothies were. Oh, I should mention the side effects: healthier skin and eyes, healthier digestive system, much more energy, and no more mid-morning cravings! Such a positive result that I will continue with my new nourishing habit, why not join me and check out the link above.
Decluttering: There’s something about getting rid of things we don’t need, use, or like that makes us feel both more energized and more peaceful. Think about the last time you stocked up, did you notice how outer order creates inner calm. Observe carefully if you tend to hold too much information in your head, read too much, see too many things that clutter your mind.
Here is a some additional micro-tips on letting go:
- streamline your email inbox and unsubscribe from irrelevant subscriptions.
- keep a calendar of reminders and a to-do list. The more information you keep out of your mind (in apps or calendars), the more decluttered and calm your mind will be.
- Observe what type of clutter irritates you: letters, emails, toys, kitchen counters, bathroom products, awareness is the first step followed by ownership and action.
- When decluttering clothes, etc., ask yourself the following questions: 1. Does this item bring me joy, excitement? 2. What purpose does it serve or has it served its purpose in your life? 3. Could this bring joy to someone else?
Then let go with love and gratitude.
ADVICE Tackle one drawer or cabinet at a time and not a full room, keep it manageable.
meditation and powerful affirmations.
I often choose to meditate using questions and don’t we all have so many questions to ask ourselves. I always find that the answers come when I am still and peaceful, here are some questions I suggest you ask yourself this spring:
What would I like to awaken in my life?
What would I like to cultivate more of in my life?
What could I erase from my mind that will allow me to be calmer, more centered, positive person?
Logging is another way to gain clarity and receive answers. In fact, putting pen to paper really helps to clarify and give you a different perspective. You may not have realized how cluttered your insides have become until you start expressing them.
Affirmations are a wonderful tool, use them this spring,
Inhale: I LIVE TO MY FULL POTENTIAL
Exhale: I release all the clutter from my life
Now take action! When you clean your mind and spirit, you eliminate what doesn’t serve you in your life to make room for what will, how exciting that is! Letting go can really brighten your mind and spirit. I encourage you all to smile throughout SPRING!
Finally, earlier in the year I received a notification that my blogs had been featured in the top 100 best yoga blogs in the UK by feedspot, how cool is that… Thanks to everyone reading my blogs.
