What is Yin and Restorative Yoga?
- Yin and restorative yoga uses poses held passively, typically for 3-5 minutes, to stimulate, align and unblock the energy pathways of the body’s myofascial meridians, restoring Qi (prana) energy and calming the nervous system; bring the mind, body and spirit back into balance.
- Becoming still in a pose and staying for a period of time creates space, allowing often unconscious sensations and emotions to surface and release from your system. This way you clear the mind without getting caught up in the stories of these emotions.
- Yin Yoga is especially for you if your energy levels seem depleted or you are overstimulated with an overactive mind or your energy levels are erratic.

Advice
- Find your appropriate edge: Move slowly and gently into the pose. Don’t go straight to the “max” in the pose and never stretch to the point that you cause pain.
- Stillness: Consciously try to relax into the pose and stay still, without moving too much or adjusting the position too much.
