Catherine is well known for her imaginative and practical approach to yoga.
Originally a professional dancer, she discovered yoga as a teenager and has been practicing it since the mid-1970s. After studying different styles of yoga, including Sivananda, Iyengar, Astanga and various forms of Hatha yoga, she is ultimately turned towards the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli.
Catherine’s yoga practice and teaching focuses on strategies for down-regulating the nervous system, working with breathing and subtle somatic work to calm the mind and create more physical ease for those working with it. pain, stress and anxiety. She holds a master’s degree in ballet studies and is a qualified practitioner of Thai massage. It is this interest in the body that informs and inspires his teaching.
